  4. DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
  5.  
  6.     Problems installing the S3 drivers for the S3 964 chip on system with
  7.     OS/2 v3.0
  8.         1.  The install does not finish
  9.         2.  The install hangs
  10.  
  11. SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:
  12.  
  13.     1.  Edit the S3inst.cmd file
  14.     2.  Change all references to x:\os2 to x:\os2\boot.
  15.          (X: = drive where os2 resides)
  16.     The drivers in original format will not install because the reference
  17.     the Os2 directory.  Os2 v 3.0 installs the drivers into the Os2\Boot
  18.     directory.

  20. DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
  21.  
  22.     1.  Edit the S3INST.CMD file by:
  23.          a.  Place the S3 driver diskette into the disk drive.
  24.          b.  Change to the disk drive
  25.          c.  Pull S3INST.CMD into an editor
  26.     2.  Change the reference from X:\OS2 TO X:\OS2\BOOT
  27.          ('X' = drive where OS/2 resides)
  28.          Note: The drivers in the original format will not install since
  29.                  reference is to the \OS2 directory.  OS/2 v3.0 installs
  30.                  drivers into the \OS2\BOOT directory
  31.
